We worship and serve a generous God, and we are called to be generous with God’s gifts to further God’s work and mission in the world. Therefore, what we do with our money is part of Christian discipleship.
Scripture provides much freedom in how we are to give. In Jesus’ New Covenant, the tithe is not a law. For most of us, the tithe represents sacrificial giving. Start at whatever level you have the faith to act – and then trust God.
How to Give
Several safe and secure methods of giving provide convenient ways to offer tithes and financial contributions to Crozet Baptist Church.
Sunday morning service: Simply place cash or checks in the offering baskets passed around the sanctuary during offertory. Be sure to include your name and address on the check or envelope, so that donation credit may be provided for tax purposes.
Postal mail: Checks, made out to Crozet Baptist Church, may be sent to the following address:
Crozet Baptist Church
Attn: Financial Secretary
5804 St. George Avenue
Crozet, VA 22932
Online giving: Online giving simplifies contributing by allowing for a specific dollar amount to be sent to Crozet Baptist Church on a specific date, thus decreasing the number of checks you have to write. This can be done in either of two ways:
1 – You may schedule contributions directly through your bank’s website using their Bill Pay Feature. You set up the recipient to be CBC using the church’s address given above. Once setup, you may schedule a payment whenever you choose. The advantage of this option is that there is usually no charge for this service; therefore, the church receives the full amount of your donation.
2 – You may click the link below that uses our secure contributions software to schedule payments through your bank account (eCheck) or using your debit or credit card.
Online giving is not only easy, but also safe and secure. Furthermore, these options help individuals and families remain faithful in their giving even when they are out of town or unable to attend a Sunday service.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the full amount of my online donation go to the church?
Yes.
Are there fees charged for online giving?
Yes. The church pays a small fee for using the credit card, debit card, or eCheck software method for online giving. There are usually no fees involved when using your bank’s Bill Pay features. In either case, you will be credited with the full amount of your donation.
How much are the fees?
Credit Card – 2.80% of the gift amount plus $ .45 per transaction
eCheck – 1.00% plus $ .45 per transaction
When making a donation using CBC's online software, you may opt to pay the fee yourself.
Without a canceled check, how can I document my contribution?
Your bank statement or credit card statement gives an itemized list of transactions.
Will my contribution statement reflect any online giving?
Yes. All gifts to Crozet Baptist Church regardless of the method of giving are accounted for in the church’s contributions statements. These statements are mailed annually for your tax records. Members with Realm accounts will be able to access their giving at any time.
May I set up recurring online giving contributions?
Yes. CBC’s online giving software permits both one-time and recurring donations. Most banks also permit recurring donations to be set up.
When is the contribution charged to my checking account or credit card?
Transactions usually take 2-3 business days, so contributions scheduled on Friday through Sunday may not show up on your account until early the following week.
Can I donate to various funds in the church?
Yes. Both online giving methods allow you to indicate where the donation should go. For online Bill Pay, use the memo or “For” line to indicate if the donation should go to a special fund. When using CBC's online software, you may choose a fund from a drop down box, such as General Fund, Food & Friendship, or Share the Blessing.
What if I make a mistake during the process of online giving?
You will have a chance to confirm, cancel, or change any transaction before it is submitted.
